About Multiple Myeloma and Infections
Multiple Myeloma is a type of cancer that forms in white blood cells, called plasma cells, in the bone marrow. Multiple Myeloma patients may be treated with many therapies to combat the disease which, as a result, may have a weakened immune system.
While an increase in treatments in recent years has led to improved outcomes in patients with Multiple Myeloma, there has also been an increased need for treatments to prevent infections that may arise due to a patient’s weakened immune system.
